The funny things kids say at school
Everyone who has talked to me since I have been here knows that there is nothing to do in this area that does not require a 40 minutes drive. So I have been volunteering up at the girls school a few times a week. This post is going to quote some of the crazy, silly, funny things that my kids and other kids say to me or say while I am there....
1. I told Kylea that I was going to eat lunch with her at least once a week. She said "NOOOOOO! Oh man!" Then I ate lunch with her and she told me "if you are going to eat lunch with me at least surprise me and don't tell me you are coming."
2. Britlyn said "Mrs. Danforth burped today really loud. She said excuse me I just burped and started laughing." I said did you laugh Brit and she said "No I didn't want to get into trouble." Then laughed about it for 2 minutes.
3. There is a little girl in Britlyn's class that says to me every time she sees me "Can I live with you?" I told her no your mom would miss you. She said "One day I will go home with you and the next with my mom." Yesterday she asked again. I finally told her to pack her stuff and she has to bring her own bed...she finally stopped asking at least for the day. We will see what today brings.
4. Britlyn's class...the kids were lining up to go to the bathroom and one black boy said to another "hey dawg move back." Mrs. Danforth said there are no dogs in here we are people. I started laughing for some reason the way she corrects the kids makes me laugh then she started laughing...not good.
5. Britlyn came home one day telling me that today Jaylen said "it's hot up in here." Mrs. Danforth said "up in here or in here? There is no up in here." Britlyn said why do some of the boys talk like that. I said well it is a black thing and they have their own slang like Texans say ain't and other things like that. What a different culture we are living in here in Alabama compared to NRH, Texas.
6. There is a little boy in Kylea's class that likes to pretend all he speaks is Spanish unless it is something that he wants to talk about. If you tell him to do something he says "huh", if you ask him a question he says "huh", everything is "huh." Well yesterday at lunch he was just talking and talking to me in English. I asked him something about Halloween and he answered. Then I told him he had food on his face and it was disgusting he said "huh."

Sleepy Jadeyn
Today while I was on the computer paying bills I was going over shapes and colors with Jadeyn...multi-tasking....she could not remember oval and kept asking what it was. Then she started to get very fussy because I would not tell her after the 6th time or so. I told her that she needed to take a break and go to her room to chill out. After a few minutes she usually comes in here and tells me she is sorry. (something that she learned early on that gets her out of time outs and trouble). Well this time I did not hear her for a few minutes and went in there to check on her. She was asleep holding onto her shopping cart with her bears inside the cart. She is not one to take a nap and now I have to wake her up in 5 minutes to go get her sisters from school. Check out this pic of her with her tight grip on the shopping cart.

Fun Factory
Kylea and Jadeyn on scooters
Britlyn coming at me very fast
Her first time to skate
Chris and I decided to take the girls to a place called the Fun Factory. The main reason was because it was a free day for our church with a church bulletin. They had roller skating and scooters, putt putt, ball pit, a play area for the toddlers, and a basketball jump shot. The girls skated and played putt putt twice. This was Britlyn's first time to skate and boy was she super good. She must get that from here Daddy! He felt like he was reliving his childhood, the songs and the skates. Kylea and Jadeyn tried to skate but decided to play with the scooters instead. It was all a bunch of fun! The pics and video are from my phone while I was skating so they aren't the best but fun anyways.

The Botanical Gardens
The cute Family shot with the sun in our eyes
Today we went to the Botanical Gardens. Yeah for me for finally finding something free to do! Too bad we had to drive 50 minutes to get there. It was ok for being in Alabama. Chris and I agree that they might want to look into hiring a professional to do the landscaping and planning. It was just nothing like the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. But we did have fun taking some pics of the girls, the fam, and some funny shots. Hope you all enjoy!

Happy Birthday ME!
Looking back on all of my birthday celebrations there have been many good ones. Sleep overs with friends, surprise party for my 18th birthday, and one year while I was at work before we had kids, Chris decorated the whole house with birthday balloons, banners and signs. All of this is why I love birthdays so much! It makes me feel blessed to know that God brought me into this world for a purpose. I hope that I am fulfilling the purpose on a daily basis. Life is short but I know I will live for eternity with God. Happy Birthday ME!

Pumpkin Patch or what they would like to call it here.

Sweet Jadeyn

God's best creations!

Laney loves the sunflowers
I went to the pumpkin patch with my friends here in Alabama. I wasn't expecting something like what we are used to in Texas. It was a good thing because we got nothing like it. There were pumpkin in a bunch of bins instead of rows in the patch. They had the most beautiful area of sunflowers that the kids loved to run around in. A few donkeys, ducks, chickens and bunnies. I will have to take all of my girls back on a weekend when they have hay rides. We are still trying to get used to the fact that nothing is like Texas.
